Company History
Representative Sales and Service (RSS) was founded in 1959 by Boyd Baker. It began with the vision of focusing on customers who needed special tooling built to blueprint. The vision remains the same today.
From 1959-1970, RSS was joined by two additional partners. In 1970, Bob Patterson started with the company as a salesman. Bob became a partner in 1975. In 1985, Bob became the sole owner of the company.
In 2002, Bob’s daughter-in-law, Kelley Patterson, began working for RSS. In 2018, after 48 years, Bob and his wife Barbara decided to retire. Kelley became the President and owner of Representative Sales on November 1, 2018.

We manage and expedite communication between the customer and the manufacturer throughout the entire tool-making process or project. Our customers like it because we are responsive, and they are not left guessing about the status of their orders. We continually advocate for our customers, track needed follow-ups. and provide status reports. Our manufacturers are happy because we also support them, facilitate opportunities for them to meet our customers' tooling needs, and help keep the flow of communication going swiftly when they have questions. We invoice our customers directly and pay our manufacturers promptly."
Kelley is a graduate of the University of Kansas. In addition to operating Representative Sales, she is working on her Masters of Communication Studies and Masters of Project Management degrees at KU.
